The British University in Dubai has held its 8th Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 12 June, 2013 at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Al Mamzar. The Ceremony witnessed the graduation of the first cohort of doctoral students, which is considered a first for BUiD and for the UAE as well. Hosting the Ceremony was Senior Council Member H.E. Dr. Ahmed Saeed bin Hazeem Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Dubai Courts
This Year’s cohort consisted of 125 graduates in different disciplines of Business, Engineering, IT and Education.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to The British University in Dubai.
The University has been formed out of a genuine collaboration between Dubai and United Kingdom institutions to provide the best of British education in Dubai. BUiD has been established to make a substantial and unique contribution to the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region.
Our UK associates, the Universities of Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester and King’s College London have been chosen because of their research standing and high standards. I am pleased that they continue to work closely with BUiD to ensure that you are offered high quality education which benefit from that research.
It is pleasing that worldwide interest has been shown in academic posts at the University and that our British partners have been able to ensure strict criteria in selecting the best. All the University’s programmes have been awarded accreditation by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the United Arab Emirates and I am grateful to His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak al Nahayan for the kind attention he and his Commissioners have given to the BUiD programmes.
