His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honoured the winners of The Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Awards. The ceremony was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 11 January 2017.
Ms. Wafa Al Awadi, BUiD’s graduate in MSc. Intelligent Building Design and Automation, won The Prime Minister’s Medal for Best Technical/Technological Employee. Wafa works at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Awards recognise achievements of government’s organisations and employees for high performance. The Awards aim to encourage government institutions and employees to raise their efficiency. This Year, 22 Awards were given away, 10 for government institutions, and 12 medal of honours for individual employees.
Wafa commented, “Being a graduate of BUiD has enriched my profile when applying for the Award. I was one of the winners among 400 applicants in all categories. BUiD has enriched my experience a great deal. As a student, BUiD provided me with a valuable opportunity to study, travel and interact with peers from other UK partner universities. Also, I am very grateful for the tremendous amount of support I received from BUiD and wish to extend my sincere thanks to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Abdullah Al Shamsi, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and IT, Prof.Bassam Abu hijleh ,and for all faculty and staff at BUiD for their exceptional inspiration”.
