Thursday, July 6, 2017

Dr Stephen Wilkins, an associate professor in the BUiD Faculty of Business & Law, presented two papers the Academy of International Business's 59th Annual Conference (AIB 2017 Dubai) on 1 July ,2017 . His first presentation explained the benefits for firms of considering consumer organisational identification when evaluating potential or existing partners for international alliances. In his second presentation, Stephen argued that multinational subsidiaries could enjoy superior employee work performance and loyalty if they implemented strategies that strengthened organisational identification. The findings and conclusions discussed in the presentations were derived from two separate international studies led by Stephen, which involved collecting data from organisations in the UAE, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and the UK.

In a highly globalised world, firms often need to implement the latest ideas and strategies in order to stay ahead of the competition. New ideas often originate from the academic world. The Academy of International Business (AIB) is the top scholarly association for researchers in international business. Each year, the academy holds an international conference, at which around 1,000 academics present their latest research findings. This year, the conference was held in Dubai.
