The conference included a presentation on “The Arts and Science of Doing a PhD” by key note speaker Prof. Ghassan Aouad, president of Applied Science University in Bahrain. It was run over 4 ½ sessions throughout the day with breaks in between and there were 47 student submissions in total made to the conference. Submissions included 2 poster presentations, 14 conference, 17 full draft research proposals and 14 extended abstracts. There were a total of 31 submissions from PhD PM students, 13 submissions from EdD students and 3 submissions from PhD ASBE students.Student paper submissions were in the areas of sustainability, innovation, organizing complex projects, knowledge management/healthcare and education.
Three concurrent sessions were held in the morning, afternoon and late afternoon. Sessions were chaired by associates from the University of Manchester and attended by many BUiD academics and students. 6 best paper awards were awarded to 3 PhD PM students and 3 EdD students.
