Eman Gaad, the Dean of the Faculty of Education and a Professor of Special and Inclusive Education at the British University in Dubai (BUiD), is also an Affiliate Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, UK. With a reputation as a world-class researcher and advocate, Professor Gaad is a TEDx Speaker and serves as UNESCO consultant and a Goodwill Ambassador for Bangladesh. Professor Gaad is a frequent keynote speaker, certified assessor, and professional social trainer. Over 30 years, she has been a prominent media figure, participating in numerous radio and TV programs and contributing to hundreds of articles in local and regional newspapers. As an External PhD Examiner for prestigious universities worldwide, she is recognized internationally for her expertise in special and inclusive education and social development. She has also secured millions of AEDs in research funding from the government of the UAE to examine the field. She co-founded one of the largest NGOs in the UAE, the Emirates Down Syndrome Association (EDSA).
Professor Gaad has published the findings of her research work in international journals and her single authored book ‘Inclusive Education in the Middle East’ by Routledge in 2010 is very popular among scholars and researchers. Professor Gaad has received numerous local, regional, and international awards for her impactful advocacy and research, solidifying her standing as a distinguished academic.
